Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be received with traditional hospitality by a Jetara representative who then transfers you to Kandy in about three hours. Stop over at the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala and enjoy watching a few of the inmates being fed and taking a bath. From Kandy, you will check into the hotel, and the evening will be at leisure. Later in the evening, you will be taken to a traditional Kandyan cultural show where you will experience the vibrant dance performances, fire-walking, and drumming reflecting the rich folklore of Sri Lanka. You will thereafter retire for the night in Kandy.

Later, after breakfast, the Kandy exploration will start by visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, or Sri Dalada Maligawa in Sinhalese-one of the world’s most sacred Buddhist temples and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will tour around the complex of the temple and be able to join in a traditional blessing ceremony. Afternoon Kandy city tour: pleasant walk around Kandy Lake, visit the busy Kandy Market, and visit the Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue for a panoramic view of the city. This evening, take a drive around Kandy Upper Lake for a stunning view at sunset. Return to the hotel for another night in Kandy.

After breakfast check out from your hotel and proceed to Dambulla -a scenic 2.5 hour drive from Kandy. En-route visit a spice garden in Matale, where you’ll learn about Sri Lanka’s famous spices and their uses in traditional herbal remedies. In Dambulla, visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 150 Buddha statues and mural paintings of ancient origin. Then, proceed to Sigiriya, where you will check in at a hotel. In the evening, one could join a village tour to get introduced to the rural Sri Lankan way of life. This includes a bullock cart ride and a cooking experience. You will overnight in Sigiriya.

Begin the day by the early morning climb through the ancient wonder that is the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of the most important cultural landmarks in Sri Lanka. During your ascend, you will encounter some of the famous frescoes, the mirror wall, and the monumental lion paws that guard the entrance to the summit. You will be fascinated when you reach the top with the breathtaking panoramic views. Return to your hotel for breakfast after climbing is completed. Afternoon, proceed on a drive for an adventurous wildlife safari at either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park to witness wild elephants in their natural habitat, together with various bird species and other wildlife. Free time at your hotel or take an optional Ayurveda spa treatment after the safari. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Transfer after breakfast to Peradeniya near Kandy and visit the famous Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. The well laid-out gardens are renowned for their beautiful collection of orchids, medicinal plants, and tall trees. After your garden tour, you will be heading to the historical campus of the University of Peradeniya set amidst the hills with its colonial architecture and its picturesque views. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to Kandy, where you have free time for shopping or other sightseeing in the city. This would be your last night in Kandy.

On the last day, after your breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure. You will have the morning free depending on the time of your flight.
