On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met by a Jetara representative and then transfer to Galle. Take a 2.5-hour drive along the scenic Southern Expressway, Galle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved colonial architecture and historic charm. Upon arrival, check in and time at leisure. Evening: Take a late afternoon stroll through the bustling streets of Galle Fort. Morning after breakfast transfer towards Bentota, a 1.5 hours drive at the coast. Bentota is famous for pristine beaches and exciting water sports. Arrive and check-in at the hotel. Alternatively, go on a boat safari on the Bentota River and travel through the mangroves to see some very exotic birds and other wild life. This visit to the turtle hatchery would also give you a chance to see the baby turtles before they are taken into the ocean. Transfer to Hikkaduwa, about 40 minutes from Bentota, after breakfast. Hikkaduwa is a spot renowned for coral reefs and marine life in Sri Lanka, snoring, and surfing. In the morning, snorkel in Hikkaduwa Coral Sanctuary amidst colorful fish, sea turtles, and bright coral forms in the crystal clear waters. If you are a surfer, you cannot miss a few waves on the soft waves of Hikkaduwa. Afternoon at leisure to explore this laid-back town or simply relax on the beach. Following breakfast, transfer to Unawatuna, which is just about 30 minutes away from Hikkaduwa. For its palm-fringed shores, turquoise waters, and lively atmosphere, Unawatuna Beach is one of the most famous. The day is free for you to swim, sunbathe, or indulge in water sports. If you are energetic, go on a short hike to Rumassala Hill for stunning views along the coastline and visit the nearby Japanese Peace Pagoda. This afternoon, you can visit Dalawella Beach, which is famous for its iconic rope swing hanging from a leaning palm tree. Spend the last morning enjoying and lazing around on the beach in Unawatuna. If the flight time allows, have a last dip in the ocean or venture further into the local area. Later on, you will be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure. It takes about 2.5 hours from Unawatuna to Colombo to get you in good time before your flight.
